The Vegvisir is a very old symbol of Icelandic origin. It should always help its wearer to find the right way, it can be found in the Húld manuscript and the magic book Galdrabók. Even today this symbol is still painted on homes in Iceland so that home and life, like a boat with a compass (hence the nickname Viking compass) always go the right way.
The Nordic shamans used the Vegvisir as a spiritual compass to restore and strengthen belief in themselves and self-confidence.
